Just get the LS1 brakes if its just a daily driver. The LS1 setup is amazing for the price. I got my set off ebay for $165 shipped. By the time i cleaned them up and installed them i have approx. $200 in them. You can't even get C5 rotors for that.

Re: MY brakes suck!
Moving from LT1 to LS1 brakes is a big help. But to be honest, the LT1 brakes are more than adequate for most people. However, the key is the details like having a quality brake pad, good fluid and stainless steel lines.
Sure the rotors are smaller, but the majority of braking power comes from the grip you have in a pad. Big brakes with crappy pads will be worse than small brakes with good pads. I suspect you have crappy pads on the car now.
In your case we use a lot of Hawk HPS or HP Plus compound pads, a set of Russell lines and ATE Brake Fluid........ Big difference.

I got my C5 front rotors through gmpartsdirect.com for $45 for the set, shipped. Heck, even the stock OEM rotors are only $50 each.

How did you get $45 shipped for the set from www.gmpartsdirect.com when they are $50 each?
Also, to the original poster, the C% upgrade is worth it if you have the cash to spend. $ for $, it was the best mod I have ever done to my car.

I know that they are $50 each, I've bought them before.
My question was how you got $45 shipped for the set.

Ahhhh, I see now. I didn't know that there was such a cheap replacement rotor available, it just didn't make sense. In fact, that's DAMN cheap! I wonder why they are that cheap, sounds like a price error. Better get them while you can at that price. I'm gonna get me a couple of sets as spares while they are still around!
I wonder what the difference between those and the $50 ones is?
I was thinking of the part numbers 10445856, and 10445857 ($50 each).
