Neat brake question. plug unhooked

Just noticed under my hood that i had a plug undone and just sitting there. its on top of the brake box. i plugged it in and the BRAKE light stays on. So i just unplugged it again but id like to get it fixed. what sensor is it, is it just a sensor checking fluid or does it have a purpose and i dont have abs right now or something?

Also its a 95 m6 z28

Re: Neat brake question. plug unhooked

That connector is for the switch that detects unbalanced hydraulic pressure between the front and rear braking systems. Could be the result of air in one of the lines, a leak or other related problem. Once that switch turns on, it will sometimes not come "unstuck" when the repairs are made. Take it into an open parking lot, and try a high speed, high pedal pressure stop. If the light still stays on, have the brake systems examined for leaks, need to be bled, etc.

You are correct - your ABS system is not operative. Does the "ABS INOP" light come on when you first turn the key on? Someone may have unplugged the pressure switch connector and removed the ABS INOP bulb to cover up a braking problem before they sold the car.

ABS INOP light still works. It flashes on then goes off like normal. Not sure whats up... maybe try to just replace that switch or try resetting it and bleeding all
