You might want to do a search about those lift bars. Not to many guys that put them on, leave them on. I did like most, and just use the control arms with no adjustment hardware. It was one of those live and learn things for me. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I had them, and for stock horsepower they worked great. now with the hi po motor, they got taken off. They do work great though, until you throw retarded amounts of power at them. then they break.

You won't see the crack until the metal fatigues under heavy use. If you have enough HP, they will eventually rip themselves apart.

People are running 1.2x 60-fts with simple tubular LCA's.

Now that you have them installed, how far down can you push the backend with all your weight? Take a look at whats going on under the car now. How is the torque arm suppose to do its job?

You remove the torque arm. It is not needed when you use the Lakewood traction action lift bars.

That's what I get for letting a Ford shop work on my car. LOL I asked what's up, it doesn't feel right. Don't know was the reply, it's the first set we ever installed.
I'll tell you what though, there's no way I would have bought them, if I knew the TA was suppose to come off. I would not trust the material or the thickness off it, to have faith in it holding up.

not to hi-jack this or anything but it seems like alot of you have experience with lakewoods cracking, are there any other stronger alternatives that might not crack?

Yeah, forget the Lakewoods (just use the control arms they come with) and get a chassis mounted adjustable Spohn TA.

Spohn, BMR, UMI, etc. can sell you a large variety of well-designed components that won't crack.... the same components that are basically upgrade of the stock pieces, and being used in the cars that are running excellent 60-ft times.

I bought these traction things brand new, and the instructions never said to take off the torque arm. Where are you guys getting that info from? I used the torque arm with them, and they gave me great traction, at the stock HP level. It basically just restricts the suspension travel in the rear, which I thought was a poor design AFTER I bought them. live and learn though.
