need help picking out some brakes

hello all, i am getting ready to upgrade my brakes on a 97 Z28. right now it is all stock. i am looking for something that has quite a bit of stopping power. but i also wont strong visuals. like at least a 13 inch rotor for the front. and i would really like to get something in a kit. so that it would be easy or me to install once i return. i have only seen three kits out there that have anything close to what i wont. and they are the brembo, wilwood, and baer. i have used the search feature and done a lot of research on this but i still cant decide on which brakes to go with. a lot of people say dont get the wilwood becasue of the lack of dust covers. but they also have a six piston caliper and a four(i think). for the rear for about the same price as the baer 2 piston fronts and the 1 piston rear. i cant decide what i wont to do. i really need some help on this one. thanks in advance.

The best way to go I feel, is to buy LS spindles and calipers. Then, find a set of rotors you like with a set of hawk pads. You should be golden and you are using all GM parts. This is what I am planning todo on my 97...

Baers use the C4 caliper. Not the best but more than adequate and pads are readily available. The pads they use should be replaced for hard usage. Otherwise their kits are good quality. Plus I believe you can use C4 1.1 inch thick rotors (from the Grand Sport?) as replacements. Keep in mind your spare won't fit with those brakes.
I wouldn't change the rear calipers for street use. A good set of pads and maybe braided lines and they will be fine.

yeah it seems like the more i think about it the more that i wont to go with the baer. it seems like no one is using the wilwood kit at all. which must mean it is not as good as the baer. the reason that i wont to do the rear along with the front is for looks as well as performance.

Either LS1 upgrade and live with the 12" rotors (it still looks much better than the LT1 brakes with 17" wheels), or get the LS1 spindles and then buy the SSbrakes 3 piston kit for LS1s:
http://www.ssbrakes.com/products/det...maro&year=1999
It's only $975 for the LS1 versus almost $2000 for the LT1. I've been researching brakes a lot (since I do a lot of roadcourse events), and this is the setup I'll be going to (already have the LS1 brakes).
