Need shocks/struts

What is a good shock/strut combo, and for a good price? im not sure about anything on suspension so im wanting some help.. ive seen bilsteins on here seem to get good respect, what does everyone like.. for corning, launching just let me know.

97 Z28 M6

im running 275/35/18's..

Bilstein HD shocks are the best bang for the buck @$324 in mho

I'll second that. and they perform great with the stock springs too.

I have an almost new set of them for sale too. (~2000 miles)

True story

Also, your next best bet is the Koni SAs but they cost a pretty penny, just for two would be the cost of a set of Bilstein HDs. I have a combination of the Koni SAs on the front and Bilstein HDs to the rear match to the Prokit which I got the springs for cheap off ebay

what if you want to lower your car with srpings?? are the bilstiens still a good choice or are they only for stock springs?? thanks.

They still work good.
the lower you make the car the higher end shocks you will want to get optimal performance, but there are lots out there that have the HDs with the sportlines and like them, but they need something like a koni to get optimal performance from them.

if you get lowering springs, you can still get bilstein hd's. you can purchase them from sam strano * stranoparts.com * , but get in touch with him when you order them and he can have them revalved to your needs....

i have been emailing sam and he was really against using shocks other than something specific to the springs. he created the impression in me that it was a bad idea to lower the car and not sink 6 to 7 hundred into adjustable shocks.
