Need torque arm help
Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out how the clamshell is compressed and held together before being bolted to the transmission.
After 36 days of being on jackstands, the transmission is finally coming back on Thursday so I want the install to be as smooth as possible.
I have a polyurethane Energy Suspension mount FYI, and my father installed it so I'm not sure how it goes together.
Thanks in advance
Matt

Re: Need torque arm help
Not quite sure what you mean
This is my understanding so far...
Put clamshell around bushing, bolt through top to hold it together
Bolt to transmission
Is this correct? Should I bolt it to the tranny first?

Re: Need torque arm help
I had my inner (tranny side) bolted up, then put the outer part on with the TA in place.
The outer part has a tab that fits into a slot on the tranny side, you'll put it in there at an angle and rotate it upright if I remember right.

Re: Need torque arm help
I don't think you'll ever get the torque arm into the bushing after the clamshell is bolted to the transmission. Put the bushing on the torque arm, then bolt onto the transmission.
Getting the bolt aligned properly so it doesn't cross thread can be tough, I had to hog out the hole on the outer side of the clamshell to get it to go together.
