OE spring rates for 93-97 LT1 fbody?

I read 310lb/front, 110lb/rear. However, a drag set up is around the 150lb area for the rear. How can OE spring rates be lower than drag?

Most auto X road race cars run 150 rears and 500-600 front. 150 rear spings wouldn't be the best for drag applications.
