parking brake

i dont really think this is a problem, just curious as to what it is.
when im drivin down the road, if i put my hand near the parking brake (the metal part) or into the 2 rubber pieces that cover the hole, i can feel heat, sometimes its hotter then others... anyone know why it gets hot there?

Re: parking brake

Because your parking brake is above your transmission. Does it get hotter the longer you drive or does it stay about the the same temp after the car is warmed up?
