Re: perfomance friction brake pads are they any good?

I've been running PFC carbon metallic pads on my wife's Grand Am GT. I have had no complaints. They've actually performed quite well on an overweight car (for it's class) with small rotors. Until I installed Axxis pads on my SS her brakes felt much better. I know LPE (Lingenfelter) sells them so that should ease your mind a little.

I used them on my former 95 Z, with standard rotors and Ford hi-temp brake fluid flush. Ran them at a track day, never any fade, stopped very well.

Good cold temp stops (daily driving) as well. No noise, lifetime warranty at AutoZone.

Are these what you're talking about?

I have used their pads in my Jeep, and my camaro before I put on the ZO6 brakes. No complaints here...

I have to pull them out and see if they are Z rated or not, it has been a while since I picked them up.

I put Hawk ceramic metallic on and definitly felt like I had more consistant pedal feel with less fade. Stopping distance also dropped; and now I have a ton less brake dust on my rims. I would say a good investment.

my PFs got glazed after only about 15,000 of (i guess) hard driving. autox once/month. now using Hawk HPS+ and LS1 upgrade. very big difference but they squeak and dust like crazy. next i'm going to Hawk HPS
