Possibility of frame twist on rear engine vehicle?

I've got a dune buggy frame. I'm going to weld the fwd setup from a big block toronado onto the back of it. I was talking to a guy who builds dragsters. He told me if the frame wasn't strong enough, I might twist the FRONT, even though it's going to be a rear engine design. He said he's seen full length dragsters do this. Is this the total bs it sounds like, or is my lack of experience in these things getting ready to cause me problems?
What if I changed my plan and did a mid engine design? It could bend the frame down when it comes down from a wheelie because the weight of the engine would be on the frame instead of over the diff, but what about twisting the front of the frame due to too much power?
BTW, he's not trying to sell me a new frame. He just tried to sway me toward using a less powerful engine.
