Problem with new pads/rotor on LT1

Ok, I've done a search for this topic and came up empty. At least I got a starting point, but I need some serious help.

On my Z, I'm replacing the rotor and pads. Only issue I have is with the driver's side, rear. I cannot compress the piston in far enough to allow two new pads to fit with my new rotor. The pin for the parking brake will not allow that side to compress any further. So for now I'm running on one new pad, one old pad, and the old rotor.

I've read where some were just able to fit new pads in with an existing rotor. Others have had the same issue as me, but were able to take the parking brake cable off the caliper. I have no idea how to take the parking brake cable off, either.

Any ideas??? Thanks in advance!

Back the parking brake screw out just a touch.

Shoebox beat me to it. Adjust your parking brake.
