QA1 Spring install ?

QA1 Spring install ?
I got my Qa1 street/strip springs onto my front hal shocks.I noticed that i couldnt reuse the Rubber holder that the bottom of the stock spring and my lowering spring sat on bc the bottom of the QA1 wasnt big enough.im talking about the bottom of the spring seat.so i ditched that and just installed it on top of that metal cup that the bottom of the spring/rubber piece sit on.
Besides ditching that rubber piece everything mounted smooth.i still gotta get one side together but im just wondering if any of you came across that problem with that rubber piece.there was no way to make it fit by cutting or forcing so the mechanics and my boss came to the conclusion to ditch it and it should be fine.
what do you guys think

Re: QA1 Spring install ?
The stock rubber spring seat is not reused. The QA1 spring sits directly on the stainless steel ring that sits on the lower seat. You can also get Torrington bearings to sit between the seat and the spring, to make it easier to adjust the seat height.

Amen.I really didnt want to take the one side all apart bc i didnt wrap the bottom of the spring in a hose cut in half or sumthin to absorb the contact.
I already had the torrington bearings when i installed the hals last year.thanks for your input fred.i ll be able to sleep tonite

Fred would you happen to know how much i have to move the adj nut with the spanner wrench to the left if i want to lower it about an 1".
I got everything together and the car is so jacked like back in the old days before i had the dms springs/c5 wheels.it doesnt look as bad bc i still have the dms sprigns in the rear,im just gonna drop the front no more than an 1" but have no idea how much i have to turn that adj nut to make it drop an inch.

Re: QA1 Spring install ?
Just got finished setting my ride height. Using the QA1 spanner wrench, one turn moves the adjuster about 1/3 or 1/4 a full rotation. It takes a bit of turns to lower it 1 inch mostly trial and error. Make sure you wear some nice thick gloves because your hands will be hurting.
