QA1 vs Bilstein/Koni
#2
I have the Koni/bilstein combo with 35mm hollow bar. It is awesome. It is unbelievable how hard you push the car. I use my car as a daily driver, 81 miles round trip. It is exactly the type of ride quality I was hoping (firm but not too harsh). By using the konis you are able to lower the car about 3/4", roughly. Then remove the isolator from the rear spring and replace with fuel line. You are finished lowering the car and you still are using the stock springs. IMO, this is by far the best way to go.

I run the QA1/HAL 12-way adjustables, and IMHO they are basically a "drag" shock. Only "average" on the road. My past experience with Koni adjustables would lead me to believe either the Konis or Bilsteins would be a better shock for canyon carving and all-round road manners.

Rob,
Why did you want to lower the car? Is it worth it? My Z28 is stock and it sometimes bumps its nose on driveways and sometimes bottoms out on speed bumps. I am leaning toward the Koni/Bilstein and 35 MM bar from Stranoparts, but I'm not sure what to do with my stock springs.
Thanks

personally, I didn't like the extra fender to wheel gap. I haven't found to have any extra trouble of bottoming out. it is only about 1/2 to 3/4". With this shock and sway bar combo, you will not need new springs. I promise you that. If you dan't feel you want to lower it, then just run the upper spring purch on the konis and you will keep the stock ride hieght.
