qa1 VS Bilstien/Eibach springs
I have a 97 SS M6 with the level 1 suspension and was looking to upgrade the shocks and springs. I dont drag race but want the car to set up decent... (No wheel hop excessive spin etc.) yet be stiff around turns. Its not a everyday driver and i prefer a stiff car.I know this is kinda asking the best of both worlds. so whats the best shock spring combo. I drove a SS with the level II and like the feel but wonder if the Qa1s (single adjustable 12 way) can do a better job. If anyone running these setups can comment, please do, thanks for your time Jason

Qa1's are a drag set up, not one for handling... if youre wanting to get a really nice adjustable set up, I'd reccomend you keep your level one springs and go for set of Koni single adjustable shocks. Theyre probably the best out there...

And McDonald's makes gormet take out...
QA1's are terrible, low-tech, over-priced shocks. Good drag shocks because good drag shocks = terrible dampers. You want the equivilent of crappy worn-out stuff for weight transfer. Just what you DON'T want on the street. And you can "adjust" them, and they get "stiffer" But stiff does NOT equal control. You can see that on most any slammed Honda that bounces down the road....

Re: qa1 VS Bilstien/Eibach springs
I bought into the QA1 12 way adjustable hype and tried to get the best of both worlds, drag and corner carver. My experience was that they were poor for both. At the drag strip they did allow the weight transfer when set soft, but my track has a short run-off area so you need to get on the brakes pretty good, the soft shocks bottomed out causing my front tires to rub on the fender liners. Maybe the 12/12 adjustables will help that issue. And when stiffened up for cornering, all they did was make the ride harsh and the rear would jump around on any type of bump.

Re: qa1 VS Bilstien/Eibach springs
I am looking to replace them when i find what i want to replace the with i will put them up for sale.
the loosen up real good at the track but if you drive them loose on the street if feels like 4 blow shocks. on 12 they dont move at all they might as well be steel rods. between the two they just get harder but dont seem to get a good feel anywhere. they say 6 is like stock but is i dont agree.

My cousin has the single adjustables on his Caprice - they launch great. I'm actually going to buy the fronts very soon - I already have Comp Engineering drag shocks in the rear.
I'll more than likely run the 175# front spring - as I said, it's more of a bracket car now than anything.
