Question about QA1 rear shocks
Hey everyone, I just finished installing my QA1 rear shocks, and I am very disappointed to say the least. Dont get me wrong, the quality of the shocks is outstanding, but the documentation flat out sucks. If it wasn't for Injuneers online instructions, I probably would have boxed them up and put the leaky stockers back in. I definitely wish I would have gone with the Konis now, but oh well. Anyways, my question is the car feels kind of choppy in the rear when I have the setting at 3 or more. Is this normal? When it is at zero, it feels just like the stock shock, but anything higher and I start bouncing at every little irregularity in the road. Also, I am on stock springs, would the Eibach Drag Springs help this at all? Sorry about the long post. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Re: Question about QA1 rear shocks
From various research from some of the serious drag racers, I learned to start at 4 steps from soft and go from there. I think that choppyness may just be the nature of these shocks.

Re: Question about QA1 rear shocks
I also run my rear QA-1's at #3 setting. Anything more is too much. So basically the 9 firmest settings are unusable for a street car with 315/35/17 tires at 20 psi..
When I first put them on I started with the # 6 setting and I thought something was wrong with my rear suspension. Unbelievably choppy.

Re: Question about QA1 rear shocks
I had severe "chop" in the back with the QA1/HAL's and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Sort of felt like a slammed S-10 riding directly on the rear axle. Replacing the Pro-Kits with the Eibach Drag Launch springs seems a lot better. I run the shocks at 5 or 6 on the track and on the street. Doesn't seem to have the chop any more.
