Question about the quality of a specific Rotor brand..
Hey guys, I was surfing ebay earlier today and saw a SET of front AND rear slotted and cross drilled rotors and was wondering about that companies quality. I would assume no mattetr the quality that slotted and cross drilled rotors will improve breaking performance but any bad issues with the company itself?
This is the ebay ad.

Thanks guys!

Re: Question about the quality of a specific Rotor brand..
I'm not sure how a slotted rotors is suppose to promote a longer lasting bad, because their whole purpose is to scrape off old pad everytime the slot goes by. Also, I wouldn't trust those rotors. I'd only get them from a well known place.

Drilled and slotted rotors for our application is strictly an appearance modification. There is no performance advantage.

Re: Question about the quality of a specific Rotor brand..
I know any rotor other then GM will work fine. I warped my stock
rotors in less then a year on my new 2000 Z28. GM should of gave
us better braking to go with the power of the LT1/LS1
We have all this power then they put some wack A$$ brakes on
the car.
I think the drilled & slotted rotors come down to more then looks.
1. less heat
2. less brake dust
3. no warping
4. better stopping
5. the bonus, they look great !
get some SURE STOP rotors www.LS1speed.com

Re: Question about the quality of a specific Rotor brand..
This is probably the oldest car-related discussion ever. I have no idea why it would keep coming up.
How would the above scenario convince you of the following?
1. did you measure the heat?
2. did you use the same pads when comparing this dust?
3. did you compare your aftermarket rotors with the same ones, but blanks, to see whether the warp was related to slots and holes?
4. did you measure single and repeated stopping distances?
5. okay, I'll give you that one
There's TONS of information on the internet that shows that drilling and slotting isn't doing squat for those issues. You're perpetuating a myth by stating otherwise.

What's your story have to do with cross drilled being the best rotor style?
* I'm not saying the stock rotors are better than an average cross drilled
* I'm not saying that cross drilled are worse than stock
* I AM saying that you'd be better off with a quality "blank" rotor such as those from Brembo, especially for the money.

I have my rotors from Wholesale Direct. No cracking and I've got 10K miles on them.....lots of hard braking too. No warping/cracking. I don't care what anyone says...after 5 or 6 hard stops, there is no comparison on the stock rotors vs WD's rotors. I haven't needed to try any other rotors yet.

my stock rotors were warped and I wanted a better rotor that would
take the braking from living in the hills. I have no warping with these
rotors so wouldn't you say that's a performance advantage ?

As others are saying, and I think corresponds to your results, your slotted/drilled rotors and whatever pads you're using may certainly be better than your stock setup was. I'm only suggesting that I really doubt it's due to the slots and holes - it's the pads and rotor quality.
