Your increased brake performance is NOT due to slotted/drilled rotors. I recommend that you do some more reading on the subject, as suggested in previous posts. Here is a basic explanation:

http://home.columbus.rr.com/trackbir...led_rotors.htm

And this is from BAER's website:

Edit: Just realized the first link I posted is the same as Shempy's second one... I guess reading it twice wouldn't hurt

But I haven't done any scientific study, that's already been done and I have no equipment to do it.

As others are saying, and I think corresponds to your results, your slotted/drilled rotors and whatever pads you're using may certainly be better than your stock setup was. I'm only suggesting that I really doubt it's due to the slots and holes - it's the pads and rotor quality.

Dave
Well thanks for all your info Dave
Have a good & safe weekend.

David

Oh, and sorry to Matt for hi-jacking your thread

Which is also what I just got through reiterating, but people aren't focusing. The slotted or drilled rotors may well be better than the stock rotor, but that doesn't make them optimum. I'm saying that one would be better off with a Brembo "blank" OEM replacement rotor that doesn't have the cross drills or slots. They are less prone to crack than drilled, and less prone to warp than stock. Oh, and they're a heck of a lot cheaper and will last longer. So again, if performance is the priority, step away from the drilled. If you just want to spend even more cash and get "purdied up" while getting a better rotor than stock, then go ahead, get your cross drilled.
