question about torque arm?

iam doing a TH 350 conversion soon and i have been told that there is a crossmember you can buy that lets the toque arm mount to it? i was wondering if anyone has found a way to make a bracket to weld onto the crossmember so that i can mount the torque arm to it, if so please let me know.

Re: question about torque arm?

Both Spohn and BMR make torque arms that do not require the front of the TA to be mounted to the tranny tailshaft. The Spohn TA included a front mount that bolts in place of the sheetmetal "g-load brace" that connects pads on each side of the driveshaft tunnel, just under the front u-joint. The BMR unit requires that you weld in a new "cross member" that attaches to sub-frame connectors, so you need SFC's to use the BMR, as far as I know.

These are completely separate from the tranny support cross-member.

Re: question about torque arm?

The Spohn is a nice set up. I have one and like it. Be prepared to really feel the road in the drivers seat though cause your basically bolting the rearend right to the body with no cushion what so ever.
