Question on front shock/spring removal
I'm starting the install of new front shocks and springs, I have read in some places you should mark some location on the shock/spring before you remove it. I'm not exactly sure what that location is or if I even need to do it since I'm putting new shocks on the car? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks..

Re: Question on front shock/spring removal
The rears were a piece of cake, and so far the front haven't been too bad. Just not sure what to mark. I'm using Koni SA's and hotchkis springs if that makes any difference.

Re: Question on front shock/spring removal
You want to mark the relationship of the 4 bolts/studs in the top spring mount to the bottom mounting bar for the shock... the bar with the 2 holes for the bolts that hold it to the lower A-arm. If you don't do that, and assemble the top seat in the wrong orientation, you won't be able to get the top of the spring seat into the shock tower at the same time as the lower shock mount fits into the A-arm. They MIGHT be rotated with respect to each other. Once the spring/shock is reassembled, you can't rotate the top mount relative to the bottomg mount (unless you are using a shock like a QA1).
When you get the spring/shock assembly out of the car, put a white stripe in a straight line, down the side, from the top spring mount, along a couple coils of the spring, and on body of the shock.
