Rear brakes won't bleed at all.. hmm?

I had all four of my calipers off to be powder coated, and today, I put them back on. I started at the rear right side and worked my way towards the front left (like your supposed to) and I also bled my ABS usnit under the hood.

My fron two calipers and the ABS unit bled fine, but both my rear calipers aren't beelding at all.

I'll have my friend pump the brake, then hold it while I open the bleeder screw, and nothing happens. No air, no fluid comes out. I actually got it to bleed a little a few times, but nothing major.

What could be causing this? Could there just be a lot of air in the lines? If so then why wouldn't this bleed out after about 20 min of trying?

I also have a 1 person bleeding kit, but that didn't seem to work either.

Thanks

Lines can be clogged, calipers can be clogged...try bleeding longer, it should come out. Run a whole pint of fluid through the system.

check the bleeder screw to make sure it is not clogged.

I don't think my lines should be clogged... I can't think of any reason why (it's not like I have a really old car)

The next thing I was going to do is check my bleed screw and my flex hose fitting. Maybe some of the powder coating somehow got in there and clogged it?

I could understand my bleed screw getting clogged if it was an old rusty piece of crap. But they are like brand new.

What do you mean by try bleeding longer? You mean just keep repeating what I have been doing longer? Or do you mean holding the screw open longer? Thanks

Oh, and so far I have gone through a litre of brake fluid lol

Thanks for you help!

Have you checked for a leak somewhere. You said earlier that you were not getting any air or fluid to come out.

You may need to bleed the master cylinder to get it to start pumping fluid.

Disconnect the brake line from the caliper and push brake peddle. Fluid Yes/No? That will tell you if problem is in caliper or before it.
