Rear Lca's
Hi .I will be installing my slp subframe connectors very soon and was wondering if rear lca's would also be a good upgrade.Would they hurt the the handeling side of my car? I know their good for accelaration.
Thanks

The only affect will be a reduction in unsprung weight, and a reduction of flex under heavy loads.
However, you need to be very carefull in selecting the "ends" for the LCA's. Using stiff polyurethane bushings on both ends will cause the rear suspension to bind as the body rolls. If all you are interested in is going straight down the 1/4-mile, that's no problem. But if you are interested in maximum cornering capabilities, its a detriment.
To reduce bind, you have four choices...
-poly on one end, softer rubber on the other
-poly one end, spherical rod end on the other
-spherical rod end on both ends
-a spherical poly bushing that is offered by one LCA manufacturer.
Spherical rod ends tend to be noisy and harsh. They will wear out over time from dust getting in them. But for an all out drag application, sphericals on both ends will work best. But for a street car, its not the best solution.

The Poly-Ball bushings mentioned earlier are our patent pending design. They are the only polyurethane design that does not cause bind during cornering while still retaining the benefits of improved straight line traction. You can read more about them at the link below. We even post the difference in force with our bushings versus the standard 2 piece bushing.

Not to steer anyone in the wrong direction or anything, BUT ...
... I had a set of Edelbrock boxed LCA's with poly/poly ends. DRAG LCA's for sure. But I've had my car out on 4 different road courses, multiple times, and the thing still worked pretty damn good!! They're not THAT bad, and for a street car, they're fine . For street/strip, they're great ... helped my car cut down into 1.9xx 60' times.

I have to agree, there as quiet as stock and have almost as much flex as the double bearing GlobalWest control arms they replaced on my car; Their the best of both worlds! IMO
