Replacing front E-brake cable

The front cable snapped a few nights ago after setting the ebrake, so I pulled the console out to make sure it was broken. I got a new cable from oriellys, (Brakebest) # BC95212, everything fit ok... except the cable seemed to be about 6 inches too long?! Am I missing something? There was no adjustment on any of the cables, (The rear cables are still STOCK) and I did notice a sort of half-moon shaped piece on the actual E-brake lever, that looked like the adjuster, but it would max itself out before it even took the slack out of the cable. Perhaps manufacturing error, or maybe I should of just gone to the dealer?

Any help appreciated, thanks!
