Replacing front shock insulator and mounts

Replacing front shock insulator and mounts
OK, I'm replacing the front shocks, springs, mounts, spring insulator, lower spring perch. (Strano/Koni)
Want to assemble before removing existing shocks and springs.
Question is regarding the front shock mount insulator that goes between the upper shock mount and the shock. (delco 88946386)
Which way should it go? One side has a fairly deep recess while the other is relatively flat.
Any pics?
I don't want to trust referencing the assembly that's in there today as the shocks and springs have been replaced by the previous owner.
Thanks,
Charlie

Re: Replacing front shock insulator and mounts
Think I found the answer in Injuneer's front shock write up.
It appears the "biscuit" goes on top of the upper spring mount.
Copied from Injuneer's write up:
8.Put the compressed spring on the lower rubber seat, indexing the pigtail
to the proper spot.
9.Put the top spring mount/seat on top of the spring.
10.Put the dog-biscuit insert on top of the mounts/seat.
This inserts with the "ridges" to either side of the shock shaft hole on
the top, and the smooth part down into the top mount/seat.
11.Place a washer on top of the dog-biscuit. Note that this is the washer
you ground down during "intermission". Or you can just use a 5/8-inch
O.D. flat washer. (HAL install only. The stock nut has an integral washer).
So what is part #'s 51, 52 and 54 on Rob's website here:

Re: Replacing front shock insulator and mounts
When I took my system apart, I didn't find anything on the bottom of the seat, between the upper spring seat/shock mount and the top of the shock. I've always wondered about the GM diagram as well.
This is all I had when I took it all apart.... and I bought my car new in 1994, so I know it hadn't been molested by someone else. Shoebox and I were doing this about the same time, and comparing notes.
