Replacing lower control arms. Just found a thing in the way of the bolt!! :(
I'm replacing the lower control arms in my car. It has an aftermarket Ford 9" rear end. The control arms are currently stock.
I was removing the driver side control arm bolt near the brake when, after unscrewing for a while, it ran into this thing that looks like a hook connected to a spring that's connected to a wire. I removed the rotor, and this plate around the hook shaped thing and I still cannot figure out how to get the hooked shape thing out of the way. I tried to take a picture, but my phone was dying, so nothing came out well.
Also, I'm in a hurry! I was trying to replace them by this evening.

Do you possibly mean the spring/lever/cable for the parking brake - upper right in this photo(courtesy of Shoebox)?
