Ride too firm?

Ride too firm?
To make this short, when I hit a pothole, it feels like I just went over a landmine. The ride in my IROCz is so uncomfortable, and I want to do something to fix that. Now, I am new to suspension (more of a motorhead myself) and was wondering what I could do to remedy this. Is it shocks that have gone bad? Springs that are too stiff? Did the IROCs come like this from the factory? If so, will getting a softer suspension compromise my traction?

Did you just get this car, or have you had it for a while and the problem is new?
Typically, as a suspension ages, it will get softer and bouncier, so I don't think this is a wear and tear issue. I don't know what IROCs were like from the factory, so I can't comment on that.
There are lots of options for ways you can change your suspension, but I'll let the third-gen guys give you the specifics.

Yup, I know what you mean. I bought my car in August, and never noticed the typical F-body squeaks and rattles until a couple weeks ago (of course, the car was put away for the winter).
