...??? Ripped upper shock mount?
Has anyone seen anything like this? I just installed these less than a year ago. What would cause this, too much suspension travel? My suspension includes strano 1 1/4 lowering springs, strano hollow front and rear swaybars, front and rear single adjustable koni "yellows" shocks, chromemoly LCA's and PHB and a chassis mounted torque arm with a driveshaft loop. Everything has QA1 spherical rod ends.
I drive my car hard, but damn, this was just street driving, no autoX or roadracing since these were installed. Is there a HD solution or what is wrong?

Whatever they were shipped set at is what they are set at now. Is the lower perch movable? If so how does it move?

So is there any poly or a HD mount that I should go with instead of just tearing up these mounts?

Well, I found out why it ripped. I didn't have that "dogbone" piece that mounts on top/inside the shock mount. I was just using the large washer that was supplied with the shocks that apparently is supposed to go between the bottom of the shock mount and the top of the shock. I took apart the stock shock/spring assemble to get a better idea of the order of things and noticed I was missing a piece. So I ordered the "dogbone" (should be here Monday morning) and I should have it back together on Monday. You'd think that this piece would have come with the new shock mount or at least the shock mount would come with some instructions since the Koni instructions didn't really detail on this at all. Hopefully this will fix my bouncy suspension problem see here.

And just to be sure, reassemble should go like this from the top nut to the bottom of the shock.
top nut
"dogbone" insert
upper shock mount
big washer
top of lower shock mount
spring between the lower and upper shock mounts
shock with the shock shaft going through the mounts to the top nut
like in these pictures.
Is there anything that goes between the bottom of the upper shock mount and the top of the shock besides the washer seen here.

Lol, my drivers' side just ripped out today..Factory mount with 135k miles on it,lol. I replaced the pass. side a few years ago. I should've done the other side at the same time. I've got QA1 R series on mine.
How do I replace that mount?
Where did you get that "dogbone" piece at too? Might need that part as well.

I've been lowered for 8 years without an issue like that. Of course, I used the dogbones like you are supposed to.

Well, I didn't take the stock shocks apart until today since they were rusted shut, so I couldn't see how to reassemble the new shock/spring assembly. And the instructions that Koni sends with their shocks don't really mention that piece.
