Question SFC opinion guys help!

Hey guys, I'm building a 396 for my TransAm, and was wondering I plan on doing a Hotchkis STB, and a 6pt cage with lifft outs, but on the SFC I can't decide over the Kenny Brown DD, or the SLP Bolt in...Any helps, or pics of either of these on the cars?

For what you're doing, I would suggest the Kenny Brown DD weld-ins.

Personally, I run bolt-in double diamonds, but I'm not running the beast that you're building.

Yea, but I've heard KB DD's interefere with suspension mods for thw rear?! Is this true, I was wanting to get them powdercoated to coninue the same color theme as the rest of the susp parts, instead of that UGLY YELLOW ZINC PLATING, but you can't paint them till you weld it on the car?! Would it really be that much of a difference in BOLT IN to WELD IN? What kind of DD's are you running? SLP?

if you're doing a 6 pt cage, i would get the car all-together with just the cage, drive the car around and see if you actually feel like you'd need a little extra stiffness.

A guy here in Memphis used to make them ... Spectacle Solutions. They are similar to the SLP DD design.

I would just get a set of BMR (boxed) or Spohn (tubular) connectors. The DD design isn't really necessary, especially w/ a 6-pt in the car...it's just extra weight.

I agree. If you ever want a BMR toruque arm that doesn't mount to the tranny (the track pack) then the DD SFC's will interferre. I personally don't think you need them with a cage. Hell, the cross brace on the track pack welds up and is almost like having DD's.

The DDs also interfere with your exhaust options....what happens when you want to run true duals? The BMR or Spohn boxed will be your best solution.

I have and like the SLP weld ins and from the pictures I've seen true duals should still fit if you use an x pipe.

Well see I already have an aftermarket exhaust...The reason why I want SLP's is because I wont toss a cage in there till I redo the interior, and the cage I was is pretty pricey since it is pre bent, and goes to the rear deck, so I wont have to remove the rear hatch speakers (WOLFE 6pt with lift outs)
