Shock/strut/springs Recommendations?

I have gottten to replace the shocks/struts and springs on my car in the following month. The shocks/struts are the factory installed ones,so you know what I mean. Anyway, what shocks/springs do you all recommend? I am leaning towards Bilstein, but want to get some opinions. As for springs I mainly want to get rid of the 4x4 look, but I don't want it so low that I have to worry about speed bumps, etc. How would a 1inch drop look. I see Bilstein has a package deal that would drop it around an inch.Would it make a difference? Thanks

I would look at the SLP Bilstein package. It has SLP specific Eibach springs and SLP specific Bilstein shocks valved specifically for those springs. It would lower your car from .5-.75"

Re: Shock/strut/springs Recommendations?

If you want about a 1 inch drop, you might want to look into a Koni SA/Bilstein HD combo. With the single-adjustable Konis up front, you can use the lower mounting perch for a drop of about 1" and use Bilstein HDs in the rear with a heater hose in place of the thick stock isolator. This way, you can keep your stock springs (and the decent ride that goes along with them), and still be lowered about an inch all around, and your car will be properly damped. This combo would somewhat be like a BMWs, softer springs with properly damped shocks for that great ride/handling combo. Plus it will end of costing about the same as the SLP Bilstein/Eibach combo, but the combo I described is superior to SLPs, in my humble opinion. Then slap on a nice big sway bar up front, and enjoy the curves Good luck.

Hotchkis 36.5 mm hollow or Sam Strano's 35 mm hollow.
