slot car racing solid rod end panhard rod

Hey we installed one the other day but Im not sure if its done right.... is the part of the joint that goes around the ball supposed to be centered and not move? MIne right now I can grab the bar and twist it a bit and the joint on the drivers side moves around on the ball but the other side is slanted or atleast not centered on the ball and tight... basically is it supposed to be centered and is there supposed to be any twisting movement, there istn any side to side though.

If it didn't move, then you'd have a fixed suspension. The joint rotates around the ball, freely in all directions with the mounting fastener stopping the rotating/twisting motion.

But I'm not quite understanding the description of the rest of the question. If it moves side to side (Meaning the same axis as the bolt going through the ball of the joint) then somethings wrong.

I'm running the QA1 joints on my rear suspension. They are STIFF to move and should be. I'd check to be sure the locking nut is tight, it may have backed off. Mine did for a while until I finally got them tight.
