SLP springs

SLP springs
I was looking to get some SLP springs for my car. I know there are two levels. How can I tell them apart? I also heard certain levels cam with either Bilstiens or Koni shocks. They are also slightly lower than the stock Z28 as well, any where from a 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. Is there any truth to this. Any help would be great. Thanks......John

The 2 levels are refered to the SS car itself. level one was what all SS's got swaybars and panhard rod. Level II was the springs and shocks. All the SLP springs are the same and their are 2 different types of shocks. Ones made just for the SLP springs and another set that is firmer. Lmperformance.com has both kinds. both are bilsteins. The SS only got the Shocks made just for the SLP Springs. Yes they do lower the car a little 1/2 to 3/4" like you said. They are a great setup for someone on a budget. They give you the best of both worlds good corner carving and still wont wheel hop from a dig.

Thanks for the reply. By any chance do you have any pics of your car? I am not sure if I want these springs with Koni's or my stock Z28 springs with Koni's and installed on the lower perch. What do you think will be better for an all around ride. Thanks again.....John

The 2 levels refer to the different springs. SLP had 2 spring sets you could get.
SLP Level 1 Progressive 223-448 97-136 0.75"
SLP Level 2 Progressive 300-450 115-185 0.50"
IIRC.... Both ran on the SLP revalved Bilstein shocks. The GM 1LE suspension is the one that got Koni. Here is the 1LE spring rates :1LE 360 130-180 0.00"
How can you tell the difference? I'd imagine by part number or measuring the spring. Poke around on the SLP website and you may find some part numbers and other info.

I dont know if they offered different spring rates maybe on later years, I have a 1997 and im looking at the options book that came with the car and it shows base suspension as larger front swaybar and different bushing's in the panhard bar. Level II includes Springs, shocks, lower control arms and transmission isolator mount, says nothing about differnent types of SLP springs just the one type. Maybe im wrong but thats what the Slp handbook that came with the car says . Here is a link to my clubs website.Pics are my car but I dont think you can enlarge them unless you register pain in the *** but its free.
