Stock Brake Rotor Sizes

Stock Brake Rotor Sizes
Does anybody know the size on the rotors for a 94 z28? I ordered some and recieved them today. Thing is the rears are 1/2" taller than the front making them 11 1/2" tall x 3/4" thick (rear) and 11" x 1 1/4" thick (front). Are these right. It's hard to measure my stock ones being that the wheels are on the car. I was able to measure the face on one side of them and it looks to me like they are the same size all around. Will it make a difference on the new rears being 1/2" taller. It seems to me the caliper might not be able to hold the extra 1/4".

Re: Stock Brake Rotor Sizes
dont quote me, but im pretty sure...in theory your fronts should be bigger, no matter what. Your car uses mostly front brakes (i heard close to 70/75%)..if thats the case..it wouldnt make sense to have bigger rear rotors. I just replaced my rear rotors on my 94Z, but i dont recall the exact size. The 11" I know is about right though for stock, cause you can get the 13" vettes i believe, and the LS1s are 12" (i think). So yes, your sizes sound about right. But..Im pretty sure the fronts should be bigger in circumfrence and in thickness...? anyone wanna back me up on this or correct me if im wrong? Good luck,

lol..just out of curiosity i went into my garage and checked, thats wierd.. My back rotors did seem to have a larger diameter..yet were thinner..
Im not sure how accurate it was since i used a level through the spokes of my wheels and a tape measure, then eyeing the top of the rotor...but im pretty sure the fronts were 11" with a noticably thicker measurment..and the rears were like 11-1/2" with a thinner measurment..Im baffled. But yes..it seems as you are installing the right ones. your calipers should fit just fine as mine do and I know mine are the way you're saying yours are. So put them on and see...i bet they work perfect. Good luck! Hope this helps
