Stock springs with high miles

I drive a 95Z M6 with 182k miles on the body. I've read that using Koni adjustable shocks with stock springs, and doing the heater hose mod the the rear springs gives you pretty decent handling for your money. However, I've also read before that springs really loose their perfomance over time. I've noticed that my car sits lower than new camaros, which I attributed the the age of my springs. What are you all's opinion on the effects of age on stock springs?

Re: Stock springs with high miles

your springs are 11 years old if they are original. For that length of time, yes your springs will wear and not provide as much "spring" as when they were new.

If i were you, when you go ahead and do shocks, I'd get a set of takeoff springs from SLP for cheap, or buy eibach pro-kit or equivalent. This is of course if you plan to keep the car for awhile longer, depends on what you want.
