strut tower brace

how important is a strut tower brace in drag racing. I had a kenny brown on my 1995 Z28 but when I put the accel/ lingenfelter super ram intake on, it or no other pre made brace will fit. when My car pulls the front end off the ground will it be more apt to damage something without one installed?should I try and build something that will work? I think as tall as it will have to be that it wont have a lot of strength.

Re: strut tower brace

STBs are pointless for drag racing, and not much good for street, autox or even roadcourse. I've got one, but only because it was a good deal, and I can use every little bit of chasis stiffness for roadcourse use.
