Re: Subframes?

I can feel my stock 98 Z28 flex and twist every time I step on the gas, I know the car is twisted already because the t-tops leak, the weatherstripping is all in great condition, I should have put the sfc's in right away but waited cuz I want more speed. but this is one of the first mods you should do to an f-body car. If you install them make sure to have a good shop do it though, and make sure they straighten out the frame/body first if they just weld it your car will always be twisted.

Re: Subframes?

subframes should be the first thing you do to the car. it shouldnt be shocks/springs...carbon fiber accessories...wheels...wash/wax...cleaning the windshield. i wish i'd gotten my subframes the first day i bought the car.

subframes tie the four "chassis pieces" together. the car is a uni-body design which means there is no actual chassis. the floorpans are the chassis held together by suspension/drivetrain. with the subframes, you wont get the squeeks or creeks. the car will be more stiff. when i take a deep driveway at an angle, the car sits still and doesnt bend to the shape of the drive. it would have saved me more money in the long run with re-aligning the "chassis" at auto shops. at 100/hour, it tallies up. get them!

Re: Subframes?

I put kenny brown double diamond on my old 97 ta ws6 that I had and on my 99 taws6 that still have. They made an immediate noticeable difference especially when going over things like railway tracks.
I went with bmr subframe connectors on my vert and very unhappy with them. I think they did absolutely nothing. I will be cutting them off and putting on kenny brown double diamonds on the vert as well.
