sway install

I just got my poly bushings and endlinks. I was about to get under and install, but I was hesitant b/c I dont know if you can just rest the car on jack stands, or does the front end's weight have to be loading the the front suspension in order to swap out the sway bar?

Re: sway install

You don't have to have the suspension loaded for the sway bars. (Remember - sway = side to side)

Just jack either end; remove the old stuff and replace with new.

I did mine in my buddies driveway with jackstands

Good luck

You'll be alright. Mine looked pretty shot when I took them off as well.

Re: sway install

as long as both sides are at the same height there are no forces on the sway bar

Re: sway install

sometimes its a pain to get the end links compressed far enough to bolt on. be patient, itll go, trust me.

Re: sway install

I just did my rear endlinks. Them polys are far better then the crappy plastic ones. I used a jack and lifted the rear end up and it helped remove the bushings. I would imagine you could do the same thing with the fronts.

Re: sway install

I just finished the install yesterday. It was pretty easy except for the LH U-shaped body mount, the bolt on the back side's threads stripped, and now it won't budge. I dont think its going to be a problem though, because its still VERY tight after torquing down the other one in the front.

But yeah, after the new bushings and bar and strut brace, my front end is MUCH more responsive.

Re: sway install

Would a bigger rear swa help me that much in cornering? I've got a panhard rod coming in the mail, would that be suffecient or should I cough up an extra 60-70 bucks? I was thinking it'd be acceptable to just re-do the endlinks and mounts in poly.

Re: sway install

My buddy has a sphoon rear swaybar and he says it helped a lot. I just bought some poly endlinks for 16.78 from napa and it has defiantly helped.
