http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

yes I know that a set of Bilstein HD's, KYB's or QA1's would be optimal, but how would these stock replacement shocks hold up to a drop comparable to that with the Sportlines?

Re: are these shocks a good deal?

in a word NO

I tried out a set and a year and a half later they're leaking, the ride is bouncy, to much body roll, and the car just generally sucks with those shocks, spend the money and do it right the first time

How long did your stock shocks & struts hold up?? That should answer your own question.

theyre still holding up at right over 100k miles. Only difference between my current ones and these would be these are going on a lowered car.

Re: are these shocks a good deal?

The stock DeCarbon shocks really aren't the right shock for a lowered application. They worked adequately for cruising with the stock springs, but with lowering springs with higher spring rates and less travel, they just aren't a good choice. If you are going with a lowered application, try to match the shocks' to the springs for the type of ride you are looking to get.

That being said, I bought the SLP takeoff DeCarbon shocks for my Z28 convertible and they ride just fine with the stock springs for highway driving and around town. If I was road racing or driving aggressively, I don't think these would do the trick at all.

Just my thoughts....
