I was running without that brace for quite awhile until my chassis mounted Spohn torque arm went in and took that place. I really didn't notice it not being there so I would imagine an aftermarket one wouldn't make a drastic difference either. I don't think they are cheap either for what they are, I think they run close to a hundred bucks.

You can just remove the steel one with no adverse affect. The guys I know who run the Camaro/Mustang Challenge don't run the tunnel brace to save weight. If those cars don't need it, yours doesn't either.
