THose of you with Bilstein HD's
Because they are a harder shock they dont squat as much as the Stockers.
Now i have 275/40/17's on the back and want to know what tire everyone else uses. I have about 450hp and 420ft lbs of torque and need a tire that'll hold that power with the nonsquating shock and lower profile rim.
Currently im running Nitto DR's and they hook a lot better than my Bridgestone RE730's but they only last 12k or so..
So do any of u guys who run KDW's, SZ50 firehawks, or The D3's with a set up similar to mine?

Shocks perform dampening; springs and the support arm geometry minimize squatting. If you lowered your car, you should add LCA relocation brackets to correct the LCA angle to reduce squatting. As far as tires, it's going to be tough to match Nitto's traction and get higher mileage. Firestone SZ50's have been discontinued and replace with Firehawk Wide Ovals.

The shocks do resist squatting to a certain point, during that quick weight transfer. I've also experiance it. I'm not sure any normal street tire is going to give you the grip you need. I also have Bilstein HD's with 275/40-17 tires (F1 GS D3's.) They grip well, but only a DR is going to hook a lot better than a standard street tire.
Like OBE 95Z28 said though, make sure your LCA angle is correct if you are sitting lower than stock.

Yeah stock ride height...
No your suppose to lie to me and tell my 100 dollar Kumho Estcas will give me twice the grip of Nitto drag radials so i get all happy...
I may put relocation brackets on it to get better grip with a street tire..???
Right now with no real hard warm up on the drag radials they'll cut a 2.00 consistently where as the RE730's cut 2.33 60 ft times.
Im worried about breaking my rear.. but if i go back to street radials and put relocation brackets on maybe i can still hit a 2.1??
who knows.

With stock ride height you don't need LCA relocation brackets.
Well, I hit 2.15's with the Bilsteins, and the F1 GS-D3's if that's any help.(Plus I have a HUGE front sway bar which hurts my 60') I know I could get down to about a 2.1-2.0 if I tried hard enough with these tires, so maybe they are a little better than the Kumhos.
