Throw out bearing bad?

Hello all, I was wondering how you can tell if a throw-out bearing is bad.

When I start the car, I can hear a slight whine that goes away when I push in the clutch pedal.

I have also begin to notice a very small (about the size of a silver dollar) puddle under the trans (where it bolts to the engine). I thought it was oil at first, but I think its clutch fluid because I checked the master cyclinder and it was low (about 1/4 the way down).

I have the SLP Lightweight flywheel, SLP LT4 Clutch and PP /w throw out bearing. About 3000 miles on the clutch setup, and new Master/Slave unit from GM.

If I am leaking fluid, will that damage the clutch setup? The clutch doesn't slip, and I noticed the leak about a month ago but I don't drive the car often.

Thanks Guys,
Kevin
