tie rod ends? Replace inner or outer?

Are the inner or outer tie rod ends usually in need of replacement? or should I replace both? (I have 115k miles and they were never replaced). I looked at the outer ones and see nothing that looks abnormal, but I figured I would replace them anyway while I do some other suspension upgrades. Any insight greatly appreciated! Thanks!

the outer usualy go bad before the inner. jack the car up. grab the tire at the 3 clock and 9:0 clock positions and move back and forth and see if there is any play. now grab at 12 and 6 and do the same. if it;s tight your pretty much ok. it;s just a simple check. are you having any issues?
