torque arm install question

I have a red poweder coated torque arm(think it a bmr but not sure), anyways it has the drive shaft saftey loop and the new bracket plate. My question is: What is involved in the install of this set up? I tried but the new torqu arm is much shorter than my factory piece. Is it suppose to be much shorter? Where does the big mounting plate mount too? The bushing just slides into the tube near the u joint. Its just not as long as the factory one and it is troubling me on what to do. Any info would be appreciated

Re: torque arm install question

it sounds like its part of the BMR trac pac, it supposed to be shorter for it designed to put load on the boddy rather than the transmission tailshaft but still works the same

jm881 is right

Re: torque arm install question

Thanx for the feedback. It will be harder to install then one that would bolt to the tranny. Has anybody ever installed one. Is there any short cuts that might save me some time? It is gonna be much more involved than tranny mount system because it looks like I will have to drill like 8 mounting holes in the body. I dont have any installation instruction or mounting bolts, just the bushing set up and the mounting plate. I dont want to mess anything up and Im kinda nervous about drilling holes in the body of my car! Im not gonna try anything till I get all the facts. Anybody got more info?

Re: torque arm install question

ine is different tha that one. Mine has a big 3 sided plate that the ar bushing mounts to. I cant find a install manuel nowhere. The plate goes over the drive shaft and a "U" shaped plate bolts to the plate to close in the drive shaft.

Re: torque arm install question

Oh, you got the Jegster? ta. You have to remove the rear seats and carpet and drill a bunch of holes to bolt that thing in. From what I've read it's a decent part but a royal pita to install.
