Exclamation Transmission Crossmember

On the '98 Z28 convertibles, with an automatic trans, there used to be a SLP kit (#30055) that contained a new crossmember and a bracket that would give you enough clearance to use their longtube headers. This kit is now out of production, and out of stock, and every shop I could find online does not have one (I guess they must have drop-shipped all the orders). What can I do at this point? I have been piecing together the system as the budget (wife) allowed and I now have the headers, install kit, Y-pipe, and the cats - but now I won't be able to install them without this kit. Can't return the stuff - bought too long ago. Does anyone have any solutions?? HELP ! ! !

Re: Transmission Crossmember

If anyone makes a double hump style crossmember, like the mustang guys use, that fits our cars that would be the ticket. Doesn't have to be an SLP piece. I'm sure you could get a shop to fab you up one pretty easily: one tubular brace+a couple pieces of bar stock+ a welder= one nifty new crossmember. If you do find a company that makes the f-body double hump crossmember, please post it on here. Good luck man.
