Tubular front a-arm questions

Hello everyone I have a 97 SS in dire need of a front end rebuild and I want to take this opportunity to upgrade to the tubular upper and lower a-arms and want to get your opinions on the best setup for a daily driver.
I was just reading the Oct 2004 GM High Tech article about the G2 stuff but it's all heim joints and that might be kinda ruff. I'm thinking maybe Global West uppers with BMR lowers but I'd like to get as much feed back as I can before plunking down the $600 + for the parts.
Thanks in advance for any feed back.

Re: Tubular front a-arm questions

I just bought the bmr upper and lower tubular kit. so far I have only installed the uppers but it is defenitely more solid without being a rough ride. I can send you some of the installation pictures if you want. I can also send you some pics of the lowers.

Re: Tubular front a-arm questions

Go with the GW upper A arms and stock (or 1LE) lower A arms. You'll get great camber adjustment, improved handling, and the ride with the SLP Level II is just fine (just slightly more harshness than stock, but not enough to complain about). I just upgraded to the GW upper A arms and new 1LE lower A arms several months ago, and I couldn't be happer with them. I went from a max negative camber before the upgrade of -.8 to a max available of over -2.0 now (although I only run -1.5). There is more harshness in the bushings, and as a matter of fact I went back from Koni DAs that I had just put on to my stock Bilsteins. The Konis with the stock setup were ok, but put them and the stiff bushings in the GW A arms together and the ride was pretty much unbearable on our rough Oklahoma roads. With the Level II Bilsteins though, the ride is great and handling is awesome. Due to the extra camber gain with the GW A arms I think the car with the stock Bilsteins now handles as well (or better) than the stock A arms and Konis.

Re: Tubular front a-arm questions

Thanks for the replys I'm considering the GW uppers with the BMR lowers, but if I get a great deal I'll go all BMR.

Re: Tubular front a-arm questions

bmr offers a $30 discount if you buy the uppers and lowers together. BTW they also sell adjustable uppers
