Tubular K-member on a daily driver?

Tubular K-member on a daily driver?
Good idea or no?
The car wont be daily driven... but will see a lot of road time... so I might as well call it a daily driver... long trips, local hops, ect.
I hear stories about them breaking... so should I do it, or stay away?

I have not seen/heard of many if any K-members having issues when made from Mild Steel.
As any thing from CM, you have to keep your eye on the welds so that you catch any cracks, this is done on even the grand scale of NHRA rails down to your F-bods.

I bolted up the BMR K member about 20K miles ago. I'm under my car inspecting on a regualr basis and the welds look great. My car also has run about 6 road racing sessions with this K member out at Willow Springs. The best feature is easy access to the engine/accessories from the bottom. UMI has a new K member that is beefed up compared to the BMR piece.
