I'm more than happy with all of my UMI stuff.

Something to check out for a street/strip/handling LCA is the J&M Products piece: https://www.camaroz28.com/articles/jmbushing/

I see many differences between the companies... and how many different ways can you make a tubular LCA??

I also don't see where you are seeing patents...

You do realize that 1 5/8 = 1.625, right?
One thing I noticed is UMI has been making there C5 brake kits for awhile now and all the sudden now BMR makes them... and they look very similar. Same goes with there 3rd gen SFC's. UMI has been selling them for years... now BMR just released them last week, they look similar too. Does this mean BMR is now copying UMI? Possibly, its how competition works.

i think bmr and spohn are more alike than bmr and umi. i have the sfcs, lcas, and phb from umi and all are great products.

UMI's site says "Our brackets are CNC machined from Aluminum 2024." and they appear to be hard anodized.
BMR's site says "Our brackets are made from TIG welded 1/4" 4130 chrome moly, these brackets are just as strong yet weigh less than the bulky aluminum brackets currently available" and they are powdercoated.
So there are some differences. In this case I'd go with the BMR pieces. They cost less too.

I am not going off material used, I am going by looks. Look at the center section that sticks out to hold the abutment brackets, same design as UMI... they look similar. Do I really care? No. My point is all these manufactures, suspension, intakes, rear ends, throttle bodies ect ect all do the same thing. A good product is made, the next company analyzies it, makes small changes and markets it as there own. It happens every day with every company. It doesn't even have to be a copy of the same product, sometimes just the idea is copied.

With that being said seeing how the Baer brackets flex I would not trust the 1/4" steel ones.
