Upgrading the sway bars -- Will it make..

I have a 94 camaro z28 and I'm upgrading the suspension for better handling. Will upgrading the front and rear sway bars make a huge difference - (day/night) for handling. If so what's the best ones to buy. I currenty have a panhard rod, subframes and control arms for my suspension. Everything else is pretty much factory

Re: Upgrading the sway bars -- Will it make..

Huge difference with my Strano/Addco 35mm front bar. The car actually likes to respond to what I steer. I still have stock rear sway but I put in poly bushings for the mounts and endlinks. The overall feel is great. A rear sway of 21-22 would be nice. Big difference when upgrading the sway bars. I no longer feel like the car is wobbly and unresponsive...the car is very responsive and more confidence in cornering and especially with everyday driving on and off sharp onramps of freeways. I can accelerate a lil more and take the car in twisties pretty smooth.
Good bars would be Stranoparts.com Strano/Addco 35mm and other various good quality/sized bars such as Spohn and BMR...just to name a few...

Get yourself some good shocks like Koni or Bilstein or something along those lines. Your car will feel nicer.

Swaybars are one of my favorite mods. They make the car much more fun to drive. I have the BMRs.
With stock size tires, I'd stick with the stock rear bar.

Re: Upgrading the sway bars -- Will it make..

Should be noted that Spohn, BMR, Addco's standard bar, LG, all use 32mm bars for the front. The difference between a 32 and a 35 in roll stiffness is absolutely huge, about 45% or so more with a 35. Also, if you have a 1LE, an SS or a WS6 you already have a 32mm front bar anyway....

the BMR 32/21 solid bars made a HUGE difference in my car. otherwise stock suspension shy of lca and phb.

you'll really notice alot less body roll.

I have the 35mm solid front bar and 21mm rear bar, and it's probably been my favorite handling mod that I've done. It's a HUGE difference over stock. You'll notice it just pulling out of your driveway.

Cool thanks everyone for the help. I'm defetny going with some upgraded sway bars. I like to get a 35mm for the front and a 22 or something like that for the rear. I have a catalog that sells a gm high performance 34mm sway bar for our cars for 50.00 are those any good?

Save your money on the rear bar for now. You probably don't need it. And are you sure about the 34 mm sway bar being for 4th gens? If so, may I have the part number please?

They have a 34mm sway bar for 59.00 - It's in the late model camaro section but the description does not say it's for a late model camaro. I will give them a call and double check - sounds way too cheap to me also - Mike

I am pretty sure those are the third gen sway bars. But even then, that still sounds very cheap.

*ahem* see post #4 if you are after 35/22 bars.... You might find the person you need there.
