v6 Rearend vs LT1 Rearend?

Hey guys,

I know there's some sort of difference but what's the main difference between the LT1 and v6 rear ends? Just different gears? Could I take my v6 rear end and convert it to calipers, change the gears, and be good to go with an LT1? It's an automatic, if that makes a difference, but will be set up with a 2500+ stall.

I converted a v6 shell into essentially a Z28 clone from a Z28 donor car. The rears are identical. Moved the posi over from the Z28 and just swapped the ring gear. I'm in the process of moving over the brakes right now but ran the drums for couple months.

Some of my mods are in my sig, and this is all going through the v6 rear. You'll be fine.

yea, its basically gears, posi, and brakes. some Lt style v6 cars got 3.42's anyhow in the 3.8L ones. if its an Ls diff, they have a posi optional and all use the big discs.
