Wandering Camaro

Wandering Camaro
One time my SS seemed to "sit right in the groove" on the road. But for a few years, it kind of wobbles all around the road. Bumps and undulations in the pavement pull at the steering wheel. Also does not have good on-center feel. 1/2 inch of loosness. Seems like something is loose. And getting worse.
I torqued all the wheel lugs, I've had many alignments, had them check for loose suspension parts, and (you never know if they really did) - check the steering gear adjustment. Power steering fluid is full. I put new Powerslot rotors on the front...THAT did help, becuse I had warped rotors and that was pulling me to one side at lights.
But it seems to get slightly worse and worse. It's like the car was wrecked (never was), it's just....Sloppy!
Shocks? Worn bushings? (but only 30 K miles on a 2000 SS) Should I get Bilstein HD's (my SS did not have that option)
BTW, it seems to have come with the 1LE springs since it sits kind of high compared to my Z and other SS's.
My old Z28 with 55 K is solid on the road. Strong on center and doesn't get fazed by undulations in the pavement.
Thanks For any help!

Re: Wandering Camaro
My rack assembly ended up with excessive play, replacing that took a considerable amount of play out of it. The actual alignment settings may contribute to the wandering, so does a wider tire. Also look for worn ball joints and suspension bushings.

Re: Wandering Camaro
sounds like worn ball-joints to me, my 1993 used to ride real clean, kinda doing the same thing.
Find myself more in the old silverado these days anyway, cant afford to fix the Z's, and boy they love to break...
