Hey dude, you get that suspension in the car yet????
I've got the front end all buttoned up in place (K-member and A-arms). I still have to bolt the big 35mm Strano bar on .
Next step is doing everything in the rear of the car (LCA's, PHB, sway bar, springs, shocks).
*Note Re: UMI K-member: I had to elongate the holes for the motor mount bolts, as they were not drilled in the correct location . When I sat the motor down into the frame, the holes were too high up for where the actual mount holes were located.
Also, I had to elongate the rear hole, driver's side, where the K-member bolts to the frame of the car. The other 5 holes lined up perfectly, but that 1 was off by a little bit.
OTHERWISE?? This K-member looks like a fine piece of art!!! The quality seems excellent. I sure hope it does its job well?? (which I trust it will ).

Capn Pete- What motor mounts are you running? I ask because we never had a issue. Each K-member is jig welded and if a hole location was off or wrong it shows up in the jig and the part will not fit correctly. Sounds like a poly motor mount?
Also it is very weird on the rear holes, again we never had a issue. Each K-member goes through a inspection before shipped and given a serial #. I can pull the inspection sheet by the # stamped in the rear A-Arm mount or by using your name. But if anything is out of spec it doesn't shipped.
I am just a bit confused..
Thanks,
Ryan

As a matter of fact, I did switch to Prothane poly motor mounts . I guess they're off from the factory by quite a bit?! Weird, but at least that explains the problem with the motor mounts not lining up (I never even "test fit" the motor into the frame before ditching the factory rubber mounts, so I'd have no idea if it was correct otherwise).
As for the left rear mount hole? Something was definitely off. The big "guide pin" that is welded on top of the K-member kept the two upper holes perfectly in line. All three holes on the right side were perfectly in place. Just that back/lower hole on the left side was off by about ~1/2 the bolt diameter. All it took was a little work with a die grinder and I had it opened up. I'm not even blaming your K-member ... it wouldn't surprise me that the car is built slightly off?!
With the K-member bolted in, I took a couple of quick measurements between common points on the K-member and the REAR LCA bolts at the frame. It seems perfectely centered and square, so I have no concerns with it .
