Weak brakes - barely stops

I have confirmed that the MC is flush and tight against the MC. There is no gasket there so I don't think air leakage at the joint is critical.

I am going to test the check valve you mentioned and see if that is OK.

Te parts sore guy said the booster is a dual diaphram unit ($93) and he thinks if it is bad, it could make the pedal soft. I don't think he is right.

Plus, if the booster is bad, why would the pedal go to the floor? I can see it getting hard or maybe soft. But it should not affect the pedal travel, should it?

Next steps are to verif ythe check valve is working and then rebleed. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll need to invest a few hundred in a brake pressure guage set to see what is going on at the output of the MC and at each wheel cylinder.
